Goosander

Not a bad birding day despite missing the Glaucous Gull again. Then onto Widewater where the Mergansers were once again well out on the water and too far away for decent photos.
However, one of them turned out to be a Goosander which helped brighten up the day. A muddy and cold end of the day at Beeding Brooks resulted in a smart Short Eared Owl and 2 Barn Owls as well as a Sparrow Hawk being mobbed by a Crow. One of the Barn Owls also had a battle with a Kestrel with the Kestrel appearing to grab and hold on to the Owl with its talons.
